Returning judge at the APM Research Paper of the Year, 2025.

Rami Saadi, CEO of Technical Methods Limited, was appointed a judge for the APM Research Paper of the Year Award 2025, part of the Association for Project Management Education and Research Conference held on 11 June 2025 in Coventry.

The APM Research Paper of the Year Award recognises the strongest published academic contribution to project management as a discipline. Judging is run by a panel drawn from senior practitioners and academics, with the criteria covering originality, rigour, and applicability to practice.

The 2025 appointment

The 2025 cycle followed the previous year's appointment to the APM Awards judging panel (November 2024). Returning panel work matters because the judging across cycles is what builds the cross-paper view that the discipline is being held to a rising standard, not a stable one.

The award was presented as part of the wider APM Education and Research Conference. The conference convenes researchers and practitioners around the body of work that shapes the next generation of project, programme, and portfolio practice. The discipline at the conference is the same discipline that runs through the operator-partner model on this site.

Why the firm engages

Project, programme, and portfolio standing is built across two registers: doing the work, and reading the work. The operating record carries the doing. The judging work carries the reading. Both are needed. The firm carries Chartered Project Professional (ChPP) and Fellowship of the APM (FAPM) at CEO level. Returning to the panel keeps that standing current.

The MBA dissertation completed in late 2025 (Henley Business School, University of Reading) sits alongside this work as the firm's own contribution to the research conversation. Practice and research are read together, not in sequence.
